Chichén Itzá, Mexico
Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula hide another pre-Columbian archaeological extremely valuable site. Chichén Itzá was built by the Maya civilization and was their important political and administrative center. Construction was completed in 600 AC and includes many architectural styles characteristic of the late classic period in Mexico.
Chichen Itza is the second most visited tourist attraction in Mexico, with more than 1 million tourists annually. A major wave of visitors are coming from the seaside resort of Cancun.
